Franciscan Hospital for Children Announces New Primary Care Pediatrician

 

BOSTON (November 9, 2011) – Franciscan Hospital for Children is pleased to announce the addition of Dr. Alanna Burke as Primary Care Pediatrician for the hospital.

Dr. Burke will provide outpatient primary care and pediatric medical services to children and adolescents with complex medical conditions and underlying genetic diagnoses. “Dr. Burke brings a successful track record throughout her career to the hospital,” Franciscan Hospital for Children’s Interim CEO, Donna Polselli said. “We are thrilled to add someone with Dr. Burke’s expertise to our staff.

Her contributions will help continue to make Franciscan Hospital for Children one of the top children’s hospitals.” A resident of Boston, Dr. Burke joins Franciscan Hospital for Children after completing both pediatric and genetics residency at Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital of New York- Columbia where she was involved in inpatient and outpatient clinical evaluation, genetic counseling and testing for a variety of conditions in children and adults.

Burke graduated from the University of Rhode Island with a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Studies and completed her D.O. at the University Of New England College Of Osteopathic Medicine in Biddeford, ME.

She is double boarded by both the American Board of Pediatrics and the American College of Medical Genetics. “I’m absolutely thrilled to join the wonderful team of doctors and specialists at Franciscan Hospital for Children,” said Burke. “This is an exciting opportunity and I can’t wait to get started helping kids in our community live healthy lives.”
