Volunteer Your Time

The Volunteer Services Department at Franciscan Hospital for Children offers many the opportunity to get involved by generously devoting their time and energies to support our mission and the children we serve. Volunteers are important and valued members of the Franciscan Hospital for Children staff. Candidates are interviewed and selected based upon the hospital's needs as well as the qualifications and experience of the volunteer.

There are several candidate requirements to be considered for the program:

• Must complete and submit an application along with two references.
• Have an interview, attend New Hire orientation and any departmental training, as needed.
• Complete the health screening requirements.
• Have a criminal background check.
• Must be age 16 or older.

Typical volunteer assignments might include playing with or holding children, rendering assistance to teaching students at our Kennedy Day School or doing administrative tasks in one of our offices. Unpaid internships may be available for students who are seeking experience in the healthcare field.
