Julie Kahn is Vice President/New England Market Manager of Entercom New England. Julie manages seven stations for Entercom including sports radio WEEI, WAAF-FM, Mike 93.7FM, and talk radio WRKO.
WEEI carries the Boston Red Sox and Boston Celtics games as well as exclusive New England Patriots’ programming.
She also presides over Entercom’s New England-wide syndication of WEEI and Howie Carr – the only such syndication of regional content in American radio.
Julie began a career in radio sales at Chicago’s WGN – the radio home of the Cubs and the Bears.
Julie moved to San Francisco in 1984 where she eventually became Vice President and Director of Sales for the Susquehanna radio cluster. Julie’s SF stations covered the Oakland Raiders, the Oakland A’s, the Golden State Warriors, the San Jose Sharks, the 49ers, and the Giants.
In 2000, Julie moved to Boston to become Vice President/General Manager of Entercom Boston’s FM stations. By early 2004 she was given responsibility for all of Entercom’s Boston properties and in 2006 Julie assumed her current role as VP/New England Market Manager.
Kahn has received recognition from within the industry and from without. She is regularly included on Radio Ink Magazine’s lists of the “Best Managers in Radio” and the “50 Most Influential Women in Radio.
She was featured in Boston magazine’s Power Issue as one of “100 People Who Run This Town”. She received the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce’s 2009 Pinnacle Award for women who have achieved excellence in management.
Julie is very active in the business and charitable communities having served on the event committees for the American Heart Association, the American Stroke Association, Dress for Success, and the MSPCC. She co-chaired the MSPCA’s 2008 annual fundraiser. In 2010 she is being honored by Operation A.B.L.E. and by the Franciscan Hospital for Children.
Entercom’s New England stations have donated over 11 million dollars in airtime and digital assets and they have helped raise another twenty million dollars for worthy groups like the Dana Farber Jimmy Fund, the Greater Boston Food Bank, Curt’s Pitch for ALS, the Franciscan Hospital for Children and others. She is a member of the Massachusetts Women’s Forum and the National Sports Marketing Network.
She currently resides in Chestnut Hill, MA with her husband Dan Scully, her daughter Samantha, and her dogs, Rosie, Max, and Teddy.
