Dr. Barbara Moore

 

Dr. Moore received her Medical Degree from New York Medical College in 1982. She completed a Pediatric residency at Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 1986 and a Pulmonary Medicine Fellowship at Children’s Hospital Boston in 1989. Dr. Moore also completed a VA Special Fellowship in Medical Informatics in 2008 at VA Boston Healthcare System. She is a member of the teaching faculty of Northeastern University’s Masters Program in Health Informatics.

 

Before joining the staff at Franciscan Hospital for Children, Dr. Moore practiced both Pulmonary Medicine and General Pediatrics at Dedham Medical Associates and then at Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates (1995-2005). She served as Chief of Respiratory Medicine and Chief of Pediatrics at Massachusetts Hospital School from 1992-1995, and served as Pediatric Pulmonologist at Tufts Medical Center’s Floating Hospital for Children and at Monmouth Medical Center (1989-1992). She is Board Certified in Pediatrics and in Pediatric Pulmonology.

 

Dr. Moore’s clinical interests include managing the complex care of children with special medical needs, managing patients with chronic respiratory failure and managing the respiratory needs of neuromuscular patients, Cerebral Palsy patients and NICU graduates who have chronic lung disease. Her research interests include developing physiologic, evidence-based measures to aid when weaning patients from chronic ventilation and to aid in the identification of respiratory muscle weakness and fatigue, as well as developing computer systems to improve the quality and safety of health care delivery, especially for patients with chronic disease.
