Ruth Crowley, Director, Rehabilitative Therapies, Speech-Language-Hearing Department
Ruth Crowley is Director of Rehabilitative Therapies and the Director of the Speech-Language-Hearing Department at Franciscan Hospital for Children. She holds the Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, Massachusetts State Licensure, and a Massachusetts Educator’s License.
As a graduate student from the Pennsylvania State University, Ruth completed her clinical internship at the Franciscan Hospital for Children and was then hired as a staff therapist. She has held a number of positions during her many years at this facility and specializes in oral motor and feeding therapy for children who have developmental or acquired disabilities.
In addition to her administrative responsibilities, Ruth currently provides speech-language services in the Kennedy Day School, Outpatient, and Inpatient Programs. She collaborates with the Radiology Department to provide pediatric swallowing studies and has been a member of many other interdisciplinary assessment teams. She has given numerous inservices to the public and to staff on pediatric speech-language development and oral motor and feeding therapy. A case study she which she wrote was published in Advance for Speech-Language Pathologists and Advance for Directors of Rehabilitation.
